A Panhandle Experience: Waterfowl Hunting
Waterfowl hunting is the practice of hunting ducks, geese, and other water birds. Waterfowl season begins when the ducks and geese migrate south in the autumn months. Home to over half a million geese and with vast fields that feed hundreds of thousands of birds, the Texas Panhandle is the ideal location for waterfowl hunting.
We also have a variety of other hunting options: pheasant hunting, upland hunting, dove hunting, and pigeon hunting,
The Texas Parks and Wildlife department sets the seasonal dates by region for hunting waterfowl and requires a hunting license and a migratory game bird stamp endorsement for any waterfowl hunting activity.

Location, Location, Location
At Bird Dog Outfitters, we hunt properties in Hale and Floyd Counties. We are in Aiken, Texas – located just east of Plainview, Texas and roughly halfway between Lubbock and Amarillo. The West Texas fields provide the perfect and ideal atmosphere for birds to feed during the winter. Our 10,000 acres of land includes a variety of grain fields including corn and milo and playas that draw in an abundance of hungry birds. We are considering adding more land this year, so stay tuned!
